BRIDGING THE AMBITIOUS.

Welcome to Lancer Finance Society!

We are a student-led organization based at Pasadena City College, dedicated to making finance opportunities more practical, accessible, and career-focused for California Community College students.

Founded in 2026, Lancer Finance Society was started because we realized there was a lack of representation and great demand for Community College students looking for opportunities that can bridge to finance roles such as Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Private Equity, and more, after transferring from Pasadena City College

If you’re a driven PCC student interested in finance, this is where you turn ambition into real experience.

EQUITY RESEARCH PROGRAM
(LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE)

Program Brief Overview:

Intern Phase:

  • Complete an eight-module equity research program with your cohort, attending weekly meetings with our head of education, learning, and applying each concept to your cohort's selected company.

  • Build financial models and valuations sourced from primary filings and company disclosures. Synthesize reports and develop market changes to cover your company's ongoing prospects, forming a comprehensive thesis presentation.

Analyst Phase:

Work within your cohort to cover an assigned sector and maintain ongoing analysis of the companies within it.

  • Produce research articles for the LFS website and Substack within your assigned sector.

  • Present investment recommendations for the club's simulated portfolio, as well as pitches for analysts and competitions.

CAMPUS RELATIONS MANAGER

Campus Relations Manager:

  • Carry the club's presence on campus, including posters, printouts, and networking with fellow club leaders for collaborations, to bring LFS's purpose to students who may need the opportunity but haven't had the chance to come across us.

  • Connect LFS with classrooms, campus centers, and staff, including the Freeman Career Center and Student Life, so we expand our efforts in every area.

  • Run promotional and recruitment efforts where allowed on campus, educate students about why they may be interested in LFS, what we offer, and opportunities that it provides for early-career prospects.

  • Work with the Marketing team to translate digital content into printed materials, and with the event coordinators to promote each event.

Business Affairs

Business Affairs Role Overview:

  • Identify and research firms, professionals, and organizations across our surrounding community to unlock new opportunities or experiences for students, and manage outreach from first contact through to event conceptualization.

  • Work on securing guest speakers, sponsorships, programs, and partnerships that bring real industry access and/or certifications to LFS members, and negotiate incentives and deal structures with speakers or programs.

  • Represent LFS professionally in every external communication, since each email, call, and meeting shapes our public relations.

  • Maintain the outreach database, discuss budget constraints with the team, and ensure we're in line with semester limits.

  • Keep up with every contact, ensure everything was delivered as promised, and attempt to build long-term partners for LFS.

Market Coverage & Internal Media (Marketing)

Market Coverage & Internal Media Role Overview:

  • Cover breakout stories and financial news around markets in multiple sectors on request; this will materialize as headline posts on our social media platforms. You will be tasked with creating other financial educational posts as well.

  • Produce skits, short-form videos, and creative content that make finance approachable and give LFS a personality.

  • Turn the equity research or internal officer team's work into content that members and outsiders can engage with.

EVENT COORDINATIONS

Event Coordination Role Overview:

  • Conceptualizing, planning, and staging events for LFS from the initial idea phase through to final execution.

  • Work with the marketing team and the business & campus affairs team to ensure event ideas come to fruition.

  • Manage and engage students during events, ensuring snacks, parking, and overall logistics are smooth for participants and speakers. Request and review feedback afterwards.

  • Discuss and track overall costs of every event in tandem with our budget.

  • Most importantly, foster an experience that's worth remembering!
